Food photography {Bookplate at the NLA}

I’m really enjoying photographing food so I thought I would share some. The following are some images for Bookplate at the National Library, as they needed new shots for their website. They have delicious coffee, cakes, breakfasts, lunches and even host nice weddings. It’s a pretty cool little place; check it out next time you’re in the library for a spot of reading :)

Ben and Bron {Sculpture gardens}

Well! What a fun wedding! Ben and Bron had organised this rad side by side bike to ride down the aisle and as soon as I saw the bike I knew we were going to have fun! They were married at the Sculpture Gardens (just behind the NGA) in Canberra and had the reception out near Bungendore at Lark Hill Winery. Now to the pictures!

This wedding was a collaboration with Christine.

Afternoon croquet

I was driving past the Canberra Croquet Club and these lovely ladies (Pat, Margaret, Ada & Nora) were playing their weekly game and I just had to share their story! They told me how the croquet club “was made in 1927 for the wives of the poly’s [politicians] to give them something to do.” They play every Tuesday and Saturday and have been doing it for years. The aim of the game is to get the most balls through the hoops.  “We play with 2 people on a team and swap teams regularly, because it can become a vicious game” [when trying to defend the hoops by knocking the opponents ball out of the way]. “Once your team scores, you put a clothes peg on the hoop and the most pegs at the end wins.”

Zara {newborn}

The phone rings. It is a long lost mate, Jeff, (we were best friends way back in primary school). Instantly my mind rushes back to pictures of us racing around his drive way on our push bikes after school, playing guitar in the front room and the day I dripped blood all through his parents house after stacking my bike (ouch!).

Fast forward a bunch of years and his older sister has just had a baby. Jeff being the lovely guy that he is, he organised for me to come and photograph Zara as a present for his big sister and brother in law. What an awesome uncle baby Zara has! Here’s a couple of the favourites, enjoy :)
