Andy – First portrait with 5D Mark III

Yesterday was a pretty awesome day. Lunch with a good friend, dinner involved bacon (man I love bacon), wine and a home made crumble. Oh and I  picked up a brand new 5D Mark III. I haven’t really had a good chance to test it out yet – but here is one of the first frames off the camera. Introducing Andy. Shot in 5 minutes while taking a break from editing.

For the camera nerds out there: 5D Mk III, natural light, 85L, f/1.8, ISO 640, 1/160 sec.

Selina & Andre {Glen Ewin Estate- Adelaide Hills}

South Australia is blessed with some pretty amazing wine regions, so it’s no surprise that both Selina & Andre work in the wine industry and had their wedding at a winery (the beautiful Glen Ewin Estate in the Adelaide Hills). We met up at the Jam Factory the day before the wedding and I knew instantly it was going to be a fun one!

The sun came out for the ceremony and the afternoon was perfect, all the guests hung out for cocktail hour without having to leave the venue and then going straight into the reception a little bit later on. (I can’t recommend this set up highly enough, everyone has a great time and it makes it possible for the couple to get time to spend with their guests). Everyone was enjoying the sun, laughing, crying, and having just the best time!

So with that in mind, I thought it would be a great time to showcase their wedding it a slightly different way. Here’s a video slideshow of photos – with a twist. I recorded sounds all day (including the music being played) to create this piece. You’ll be seeing lots more of these from me, it really adds an extra dimension to the work. What do you think?

Best of 2011

It’s nearly March and I’m only just getting a chance to put together my favourite moments for 2011. It was a really crazy/amazing/eyeopening year for me with a few trips overseas, moving to Melbourne and shooting around 70% of my weddings away from home. It was one of those awesome years that goes by so fast that I got to the end and I’m still not even sure what happened! So trying to remember all the little moments, my favourite stories and sort through thousands and thousands of images is a pretty daunting task – but here it is. My favourite moments from weddings in 2011 (in no particular order). Enjoy :)
